Vincent Allegretta was competitively racing at the ripe age of 11 years old, and ever since then, he hasn’t been able to shake the racing bug.The Hampton Bays native, who marked his 40th birthday this past Halloween, has certainly stepped his game up from motocross, though. Allegretta, who has owned V. Allegretta Electrical Corp. in Hampton Bays for 10 years, has been road racing vehicles at various tracks throughout the Northeast for the past three years, and he’s found success.
In the final competition of the season, which runs from April to October, Allegretta won the Super Unlimited class on the Thunderbolt course at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, New Jersey, on October 25 and 26. He was in his 2002 tube-chassis Camaro, a car that’s made specifically for a race course, and similar to NASCAR’s, it has a Fiberglas body.
